Biography – Elizabeth Connolly

377560_10151286078841383_1903338741_nElizabeth Connolly has been teaching contemporary vocals for 20 years. She was a student of the first year of vocalist to complete the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary vocals at what is now Southern Cross University in Lismore. Since that time Elizabeth has been teaching contemporary vocal technique to singers who are now working all over the world.

Elizabeth spent 4 years teaching classroom music at Corowa High School and subsequently at Oxford Falls Grammar School and Northern Beaches Christian School and has a firm grasp of the needs of students studying for music in years 11 and 12, she also has extensive experience teaching Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop and Musical Theatre in her role as Faculty head of Vocals at C3 College on Sydney’s Northern Beaches which she held for 8 years.

In her role as Faculty Head of Vocals Elizabeth taught the above styles, music theory and improvisation in worship. She has also worked extensively with contemporary worship leaders in various churches around Australia, holding workshops and teaching seminars with ensembles, vocalist and music directors.

Personally she has performed in venues such as Sydney Entertainment Centre, Acer Arena at Homebush and various gig and functions around NSW including a private cocktail function for the then Prime Minister of Australia the Honorable Bob Hawke.

Elizabeth co-wrote an Album with Michael Peaker in 2004 called “After the Rain” and has stared in numerous roles for musical theatre production around NSW, including “Dolly” for “Hello Dolly” winning the “Zonta Zappa” award for best Female vocalist in a musical (Riverina Region)

Elizabeth has now moved to the Gold Coast in Queensland to set up her vocal studio and pursue other areas of interest for the next stage of her life.
